HOW IT WORKS

During your first appointment, you’ll meet with one of our mental health professionals for an initial assessment. This assessment will involve discussing your concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. We’ll work together to develop a personalized treatment plan that meets your needs.

The duration of appointments can vary depending on the nature of the session and your individual needs. Initial evaluations may take longer, typically lasting between 60 to 90 minutes, while follow-up appointments typically range from 30 to 60 minutes.

Yes, we offer telehealth appointments for your convenience and safety. Telehealth appointments allow you to receive quality mental health care from the comfort of your own home using secure video conferencing technology.

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible. We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs and find an alternative appointment time that works for you.

The frequency of appointments will depend on your individual treatment plan and progress. Initially, appointments may be scheduled more frequently to monitor your response to treatment. As you progress, the frequency of appointments may decrease to maintenance visits as needed.

DEPRESSION & TREATMENTS

Common symptoms of depression include persistent feelings of sadness, loss of interest or pleasure in activities, changes in appetite or weight, sleep disturbances, fatigue, feelings of worthlessness or guilt, difficulty concentrating, and thoughts of death or suicide.

Treatment for depression may include medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. Antidepressant medications can help alleviate symptoms by restoring chemical imbalances in the brain, while psychotherapy, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or interpersonal therapy, can help individuals develop coping skills and address underlying issues contributing to their depression.

The effectiveness of treatment for depression can vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience relief from symptoms within a few weeks of starting treatment, while others may require several weeks or months to see significant improvement. It’s important to work closely with your healthcare provider to monitor your progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Yes, certain lifestyle changes can help alleviate symptoms of depression. These may include regular exercise, healthy eating habits, adequate sleep, stress management techniques (such as mindfulness or relaxation exercises), social support, and avoiding alcohol and substance abuse.

If you’re experiencing suicidal thoughts or feelings, it’s important to seek help immediately. Contact a trusted friend or family member, your healthcare provider, or a mental health hotline for support. You can also go to the nearest emergency room or call emergency services for immediate assistance. Remember, you’re not alone, and help is available.

INSURANCE

We accept a variety of insurance plans, including but not limited to private insurance, Medicaid, and Medicare. Please contact our office to verify if we accept your specific insurance plan.

The need for a referral depends on your insurance provider and plan. Some insurance plans require a referral from a primary care physician for mental health services, while others may not. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to verify their referral requirements.

If you don’t have insurance or your insurance does not cover mental health services, we offer self-pay options and sliding scale fees based on income and financial need. Our goal is to make quality mental health care accessible to everyone, regardless of insurance coverage.

To verify your insurance coverage for mental health services, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly. You can typically find the contact information for your insurance company on the back of your insurance card or on their website.

The amount of your co-payment for mental health services depends on your insurance plan. Some plans may require a copayment for each visit, while others may have a deductible that must be met before copayments apply. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your specific copayment requirements.
